Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Stilt, continues her pro-Russian campaign by being one of 17 representatives to vote against H. R. 6968, the Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act. The vote was 414-17. The first-term Congresswoman who represents Archuleta County didn't even bother to show up. She had Ted Budd, R-NC13, cast her vote by proxy. This was the eighth time she voted by proxy.
Why did she miss a vote she has been noisily campaigning about? Who knows. House rules state that proxy votes must be accompanied by "separate exact instruction with respect to each vote." Boebert, who cares little for following rules or the law, did not provide that.
Ironically, one of the fringe 17 was a favorite target of Boebert's, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. Since Omar does her job and shows up for roll call votes (she hasn't voted by proxy) maybe next time Boebert can ask Omar to stand in for her.
Boebert also maintains her silence for her Ukrainian-hating buddy, Madison Cawthorn, R-NC. And of course, she continues to cozy up to Putin-lover and Former President Trump. In the MSNBC video, Boebert voter-by-proxy Budd delivers his Putin creds.
