On Aug. 26, the Archuleta County Democrats will celebrate women's suffrage and the 105th anniversary of the 19th amendment. 

 

The event at the Liberty Theatre will feature a 7-minute short documentary on women's history followed by a screening of the 2015 film Suffragette, starring Carey Mulligan, Helen Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep. 

 

The cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. Caldwell's Liberty Bar will offer themed cocktails and mocktails for the occasion. 

 

After the film, door prizes will be awarded. Each ticket-holder for the event will receive one entry for the door prizes. Additional door-prize entries will be available for a donation.

 

Guests are encouraged to wear white to honor the original suffragettes.
