Conversation Draws 80 Participants

About 80 people came out on May 13 for the first of four Community Conversations about some issues voters may have to decide in November. 

Archuleta County voters may be asked to approve a school bond issue, a measure for Pagosa Springs Medical Center, and an increase in the county lodging tax. 

The evening started with a panel discussion featuring Longinos Gonzalez Jr., county manager; Rick Holt, school superintendent; and Rhonda Webb, CEO and chief medical officer of PSMC. Rick Holter of Main Street Pagosa moderated the forum. The evening finished with an audience Q and A session.

This was the first of four sessions. The future sessions are: 

May 21, 5:30 p.m. Focus on school facilities --  PLPOA Clubhouse, 230 Port Ave. 

June 1, 5:30 p.m., Focus on PSMC -- PLPOA Clubhouse 

June 10, 5:30 p.m., Focus on county infrastructure and the lodging tax -- Auditorium, Pagosa Springs High School, 800 S. 8th St.
