Community development was the focus of the September lunch meeting of the Dem Club.
Emily Lashbrooke of the Pagosa Community Development Corporation gave us an update on several key issues, including broadband access and workforce housing development.
Existing plans to develop workforce housing were upended recently when the Pagosa Area Water and Sewer District board (PAWSD) voted against waiving certain fees for workforce housing. As a result, some grants are in jeopardy.
If you feel strongly about the need for workforce housing, we encourage you to get up to speed on the issue.
