A Roaring Fork resident will challenge U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert in the 2024 Republican primary, the Aspen Daily News reports.
Russ Andrews, 65, is running because he fears Boebert will lose the general election. CD03 is a +9 Republican district, but Boebert lost to Democrat Adam Frisch by 546 votes in the 2022 election.
“She has shown more of her true colors since then,” he told the Daily News. “It’s time for her to move on. She’s puerile, she’s truculent, she’s divisive, she’s not terribly informed, I don’t think. I don’t shoot from the hip. I’m willing to do my homework. I don’t see that from her.”
Frisch and Montrose veterinarian Debbie Burnett have announced they will run against Boebert in 2024.
