On March 22, a crowd of about 50 people gathered near Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library in Pagosa Springs to demand that the federal government maintain its commitment to support local libraries.

The Trump administration has announced that the Institute of Museum and Library Services is one of the federal agencies it has deemed unnecessary and plans to close. 

The American Library Association has warned that cutting this agency would devastate rural libraries like ours. 

The protesters who rallied in support of our library on Saturday aren't going to let that happen without a fight.
